The prophet Ezekiel, during the Israelites’ diaspora when King Nebuchadnezzar ruled Babylon, foretold (circa. 593 BCE to 570 BCE) the eschaton transitional event that is occurring in modernity; Russia has been expanding its geoeconomic and geopolitical influence and military footprint in the Middle East and countries in Africa’s northern and central coast along the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea.

According to some biblical scholars, Russia is believed to be Magog, mentioned in the Book of Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39. Magog, ruled by “Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal,” [1]and its allies, three of which are mentioned in Ezekiel 38:5 – “Persia (known today as Iran), Ethiopia, and Libya” - will one-day wage war against Israel during the End of Days. This invasion is also foretold in Revelation 16:14c as the battle of that great day of God Almighty, better known as the Battle of Armageddon.

In antiquity, “the Persian Empire, also known as the Achaemenid Empire, lasted from approximately 559 B.C.E. to 331 B.C.E. At its height, it encompassed the areas of modern-day Iran, Egypt, Turkey, [Syria[2]], and parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan .”[3]

I posit that May 2022, when the Russian military positioned “the 720th Logistics Support Point of the Russian Navy in Tartus, Syria, and the Khmeimim (or Hemeimeem) Air Base located near Latakia, Syria,”[4] is an eschaton transitional event. “The Hemeimeem air base in Syria serves as a logistical hub servicing flights to Libya, Central African Republic (CAR), and Sudan, where Russian non-governmental players are reportedly operating, [confirmed by] satellite images published on May 26, 2022, by U.S. African Command (AFRICOM) [that] appear to confirm reports that Russian MiG-29 jet fighters had flown to Libya (https://www.mei.edu/publications/how-russia-made-hemeimeem-air-base-its-african-hub);”[5] countries and regions mentioned by Ezekiel. Furthermore, Russia has contributed considerable economic and infrastructure support to the abovementioned regions.

Consider this….

In case you think my interpretation and analysis of Ezekiel 38 and 39 and the real-life eschaton transition events mentioned above are far-fetched, please consider and apply the Laws of Probability that it took approximately 4000 years to write the entire Bible (ancient Jewish and Christian authors who wrote: the Torah,[6] the Tanakh,[7] and the complete Christian Bible[8]) by approximately 40 authors.

When considering how long it took to complete the Bible, I would like to request that if you believe the Bible is full of myths and folklore and Jesus is not who He claimed Himself to be, please ponder on the fact it took approximately 4000 years to complete and that passage after passage in the Bible; the Old Testament and New Testament support each other.

Scientific Evidence and Theories that Support the Bible

For this section, I used a science-based website (Live Science) and a secular website (Indianapolis Recorder Newspaper).

I believe there is evidence that the Holy Bible was divinely influenced by the Holy Spirit, and tests using the scientific method were conducted by scientists to investigate whether the 10 plagues of Egypt could have actually happened. Using this as my model, if scientists have confirmed the ten plagues could have happened as written, I posit their findings can be applied to the truth of the prophesies written by Ezekiel.

 6. Job 38:16 – Oceans contain springs. Almost all the ocean floor is in total darkness and the pressure there is enormous. It would have been impossible for Job to have explored the “springs of the sea.” In the 1970s, with the help of deep-diving research submarines that were constructed to withstand 6,000 pounds-per-square-inch pressure, oceanographers discovered springs on the ocean floors.

7. Genesis 2:7; 3:19 – Our bodies are made from the dust of the ground. Scientists have discovered that the human body is comprised of some 28 base and trace elements – all of which are found in the earth.
